In June of 2010, MaKenzie Lynn Hanover was diagnosed with brain cancer at 14 years old. After surgery to remove the tumor, rounds of chemo and radiation, an MRI had shown the cancer was gone. Only a couple of months later another MRI showed that the cancer was back, this time worse than before. Beautiful MaKenzie Lynn Hanover passed away on Memorial Day (May 30, 2011). Team Kenzie for Candlelighters lives on to celebrate the life of MaKenzie by continuing to raise funds for the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada.
